 Manage Rules
Description:
The following tutorial will explain the usage of rules regards fields behavior in form per item

Scenario:
we need to add new field named "Billing" it should be true in case the bug fixed relate to the billing component and might impact our billing system, we will make this field mandatory with option to select "True" or "False"

Steps:
1. Add Billing field.

a. Login as Administrator (in case you didn’t change the default it’s U:”admin”; P:””).

b. Open “Folder List” component on the left side.

c. Expand “Form” and click on “Fields” table.

d. Select window type you want to add the new "Billing" field (in our example "Bug")


e. Click on the "Add New Field" button, and add the Billing field.


f. Click OK in the following message, this mesage approve the process ended successfuly.


g. Click on Manage Groups and set permission to the new field, i.e. in Dev permission group give
this field "Write" permissoin(the default when adding new field is "Hidden" from all groups).


h. Create new Bug and check the Resolution tab.


 

2. Define rule for Billing field.

a. Click on “Manage Rules” button.


b. We need to add new Rule for our Billing field, click on the "AND" button.


c. Click on the "Add Rule" button, first rule i.e. when developer will change bug status to fixed.


d. Rule 2 will be to check if the Billing field is empty.


e. Rule 3 will be to check applay this conditions only on Bugs.


f. In case all rules will be true we want to send the developer Alert message, click "Add Action".


g. The New Rule should look like this.
